This page brings together the results of the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) invitation rounds run by the Department of Home Affairs through SkillSelect, from the latest round back to May 2023. For each round you can see the number of invitations issued, the tie-break date and the minimum points score invited for each occupation. Results for the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) – Family Sponsored are included where the Department published them.

How 189 invitation rounds work

Skilled workers who want a 189 visa must first lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) in SkillSelect. In each invitation round, the Department invites the highest-ranked EOIs by points score. Where EOIs have the same points score, the one that reached that score first (its date of effect) is invited first. Occupation ceilings may also limit the number of invitations for some occupations.

The minimum score for an occupation is the lowest points score invited in that round. It does not guarantee that an EOI with that score will be invited in a future round. Some occupations show “N/A”, which means no EOIs were invited in that occupation in that round.
